Meet Your Celebrant
Compassionate, attentive, and devoted to helping families create heartfelt farewells.

My Journey
At 85, I reflect on a life filled with extraordinary experiences, profound lessons, and enduring love.
I am a devoted husband, father of four, and grandfather of four. This year marking 30 years of marriage with my wife, Janie.
My guiding philosophy:
"Variety is the essence of society. How society treats that variety defines the society."
Raised in the Church of England, my love of choral music began as a chorister at New College, Oxford. I was a boarder here when I was 8 years old and corporal punishment meant you could be caned for “talking after lights out” which suffered several times. I then boarded at King’s College Taunton until I was 17. This initial experience was a tough beginning into what can be a harsh world
To this day, I still play the organ and piano for weddings and funerals, and I compose poetry to honour life’s most poignant moments.
My career path has been anything but conventional. After studying medicine at St. George’s Hospital, I realised my calling lay elsewhere!
In 1967, I founded a T-shirt company, achieving millionaire success, luxury cars, private aircraft which I flew myself, and became Chairman of a public company with over 200 employees. Yet, in the pursuit of fortune, I lost sight of life’s deeper purpose. Easily done I’m afraid.
A dramatic financial loss in the ‘80s as a Lloyd’s of London Name reshaped everything. Through divorce, remarriage, and the birth of two more children, I rebuilt my life with newfound humility. That financial collapse though painful I think became my salvation revealing what truly matters.
Today, I serve as a Funeral Celebrant, guiding families through their most tender moments with compassion and reverence. It is a privilege to help others honour the lives of those they love.
I remain endlessly curious about life’s mysteries particularly what lies beyond. While I have no definitive answers, I stand in awe of existence itself. The staggering beauty, the improbable odds, the vastness of our universe. That life exists at all feels less like chance and more like wonder.
And so, my journey continues with gratitude, curiosity, and a profound sense of purpose. We are all born, and we all must depart. What lies between is the story we celebrate, the love we nurture, and the legacy we leave behind.
